About Tawang
Inhabited almost fully by the Monpa tribal community people, Tawang is an exquisitely beautiful district in Arunachal Pradesh. It is located at a height of 3500feet above sea level. It is well-protected by the magnificent Gudpi and Chong-Chugmi mountain ranges. How to reach
Air – Salonibari Airport in Tezpur, Assam (around 140km from Tawang) is the nearest domestic airport and Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati (around 480km from Tawang) is the nearest international airport.
Railway –Tezpur is the nearest rail head to get to Tawang. From Tezpur, there are many buses and taxis, which will take you to Tawang.
Road – Government and private buses are available directly from Tezpur, (around 12hours away from Tawang), in large numbers on a daily basis.
